Trump says US not seeking regime change in Iran, tones down rhetoric

President Trump on Monday appeared to tone down his rhetoric on Iran and said the U.S. is not seeking a regime change just a week after he warned Tehran that a confrontation between the two countries would lead to its demise. Trump made the comments during a press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Some Democrats—including Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders— took the president to task over his recent comments. Trump said earlier that he backed Abe’s interest in leveraging his country’s good relations with Iran to help broker a possible dialogue between the U.S. and its nemesis in the Middle East. Abe said he is willing to do whatever he can to help to reduce tensions between the U.S. and Iran. “I do believe Iran would like to talk and if they’d like to talk, we’ll talk also. . . . Nobody wants to see terrible things happen, especially me,” Trump said, according to The Washington Post. Trump told reporters Friday that the 1,500 troops would have a “mostly p...

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz was ousted by parliament in a no-confidence vote Monday. A new election is already planned for September and President Alexander Van der Bellen needs to appoint a caretaker government to serve until then. But 32-year-old Kurz, who became Europe’s youngest leader when he was sworn into office in 2017, has vowed that he and his center-right People’s Party would return to power with increased strength. The result makes Kurz the shortest-serving chancellor since 1945 with 525 days in office, according to the Austria Press Agency. Jennifer Lopez is once again proving that she’s simply unstoppable. The multi-talented artist is only a few weeks from launching her It’s My Party tour, which kicks off on June 7 at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. On Saturday, the 49-year-old posted a selfie on Instagram that showed her at some point during her workout. The “Dinero” singer wore a white sports bra and pink pants and her six-pack abs were on full display. “Getting it in right before rehearsals. Almost tour time,” she captioned the selfie. J.Lo also shared some videos of her workout on her Instagram Story that show her doing some arm and upper-body exercises with what’s likely very heavy weights. She wrote on one video, “Calling in sore tomorrow.” She ad...
