Brexit: PM asks Corbyn to help break deadlock

Theresa May will ask the EU for an extension to the Brexit deadline to “break the logjam” in Parliament.
The PM says she wants to meet Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn to agree a plan on the future relationship with the EU.
But she insisted her withdrawal agreement – which was voted down last week – would remain part of the deal.

Madonna defends ‘disturbing’ gun massacre video

Today Entertainment News : Madonna has defended a graphic music video depicting a nightclub massacre, saying people need to understand “this is what happens when people shoot”. The pop superstar’s song God Control calls for people to “wake up” about the reality of gun violence in the US. The scenes in the music video recall the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida, where 49 people were killed. Pulse survivor Patience Carter said she was “truly disturbed” by the video. The eight-minute video shows actors playing revellers being shot and lying lifeless and covered in blood in a fictional nightclub called The Globe. “There are so many creative avenues that could’ve been taken to bring awareness to gun control. Alaska heatwave: Anchorage hits record temperature

Science News : The US state of Alaska, part of which lies inside the Arctic Circle, is sweltering under a heatwave, with record temperatures recorded in several areas, including its largest city. Temperatures reached 90F (32C) in Anchorage on Thursday, shattering the city’s previous record of 85F. Several other places in southern Alaska also set all-time or daily records.
